A September Bride, by Kathryn Springer, is the heartwarming story of two people who meet as the result of a traffic stop. Police officer Jesse pulled over Annie when he spotted her driving with a brake light that wasn’t working and a hanging tail pipe. He later learns that his mother neglected to tell him she met Annie online and hired Annie to manage her bookstore. Since Annie is new in town and because he is protective of his mother, he is suspicious of Annie’s reasons for coming to his town of Red Leaf. Somehow, Annie and Jesse keep ending up in many of the same places and a mutual attraction grows. Both have sadness in their past and as a result they are fragile. Just when it looks they are going to make it, a situation arises that could shatter their relationship. Can they resolve it?
This is a delightful story filled with endearing characters. I enjoyed reading it.
