An April Bride, the novella by Lenora Worth, is about two people who have known each other since childhood. Stella and Marshall fell in love, became engaged and bought a house. However, due to injuries while in the military, Marshall doesn’t remember much of this. Their wedding is just weeks away and Marshall is an honorable man. He wants to go ahead with the wedding. Stella does her best to be patient with him and tries to help him regain his memories. She struggles-can she marry a man who doesn’t remember her?
The couple is surrounded by loving families and good friends who support them without reservation. Yet, Stella has her doubts as to whether she and Marshall will have the marriage they had once envisioned. Marshall is plagued by a recurring nightmare that he is unable to understand.
This is a story packed with emotion and faith. The characters are endearing and I found myself hoping that they would be able to make a life for themselves together. This is a well written story that is worth reading.
