Mirror Images by Laurie Norlander WestBow Press ISBN: 978-1-4497-9951-9

Madison has lost her job, a boyfriend who vanished several years ago, without a word, after stealing her savings which she needs to pay for a private adoption. She comes upon a picture accompanying an obituary  that is of her boyfriend, but the name is different.  Madison becomes a woman with a mission and that is to get her money back from his estate.  Mirror Images, by Laurie Norlander, is the story of what happens when Madison travels from Chicago to the small town of Churchill, Wisconsin for his funeral.

Madison quickly learns that the man she had loved had kept many secrets from her.  One is that he lied about his name and that he had  a twin brother.  The obituary she had found was that of his brother’s.  It becomes obvious that everyone in Churchill knows about Madison even though she had never heard of any of them.  No one will answer any of her questions  She begins to question which twin is in the casket and  what was the true cause of death?  Who is this man who had concealed so much from her?  Not daunted by threats and fear, she develops investigative skills that lead to unexpected events.

This story is skillfully told and keeps the reader guessing.  The author has created interesting characters who are not always who they appear to be.  Twists and turns lead to an unexpected ending.
