Annabelle by Nancy Christie Pixie Hall Press ISBN: 978-0-9883817-6-4

Annabelle, by Nancy Christie, is a haunting short story. The author uses exquisite prose to present the characters and to describe their relationship. Her mastery of storytelling is obvious.
Annabelle is an only child whose father is a successful artist. Her mother poses for his paintings. Her parents have an intense relationship and Annabelle spent most of her young life observing them. Physically present, but not actually included, she wanted to be part of whatever chemistry they had and she wanted to pose for her father. One day she did pose and then their lives changed. Sometimes the price paid for getting what we want is expensive.
This is a story of love, desire, passion and loss. The intricacies of this family are impeccably detailed and the end result is a story that the reader will not soon forget.
I received this book free of charge and I give this review of my own free will.
